Banana Bread with Nutella
Makes: about 16 servings
  • 1 batch of batter of Banana Bread, made without nuts
  • ½ cup Nutella, softened (see Tips)
  • ⅓ cup dried banana chips, broken or roughly chopped (see Tips)
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Position rack in center of oven. Coat an 8-inch square baking pan with nonstick spray.
  2. Prepare the banana bread recipe as described, leaving out the nuts. Scrape about two-third of the batter into the pan and spread into an even layer. Dollop Nutella here and there evenly over batter. Scrape remaining batter on top of Nutella and swirl gently using a butter knife or small icing spatula (see image). Evenly scatter banana chips on top.
  3. Bake for about 25 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick almost tests clean. Cool pan on rack. Cut into squares. The bars are ready to serve immediately or may be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
