The Grill is Hot – Make Dessert!
There have been a couple evenings this summer when my dad has made entire meals on the grill. Chicken kabobs and grilled peppers and grilled zucchini and grilled portobello mushrooms. But my favorite is always the grilled pineapple. There’s something about fruit prepared on the grill that makes it extra colorful and flavorful. I love the way pineapple looks after it comes off the grill – golden with all those beautiful grill marks – and it’s so tart and juicy.
So with summer coming to an end and Labor Day cookouts around the corner, why not seize every possible opportunity to use your grill? After you’re done grilling up your burgers and brats and hot dogs, try out one of these fabulous recipes below. Just don’t forget to clean it first…
PS: Be sure to tune in tomorrow (8/28) when we debut a slew of our own grilled desserts.
Grilled Tropical Fruit with Almond Ricotta Sauce via Two Healthy Kitchens
Look at the image above! This is a great recipe to make a big platter of to share – perfect for a cookout! And I love the idea of serving these grilled spears with fresh fruit. Just make sure you make extra almond ricotta sauce for dipping.
Blackened Apricots with Creme Fraiche and Pistachios via The View From Great Island
These are so gorgeous it almost seems a shame to eat them. Love that dollop of creme fraiche and the sweet alterations to this recipe she suggests in the post!
Grilled Apricot Quinoa Parfaits via Fit Foodie Finds
If you want to keep dessert super healthy (you’ve already grilled fruit, after all!) try out these tasty parfaits. Or try one out for breakfast – they’d be great on the go.
Grilled Peach Cheesecake Parfaits via Swirls of Flavor
If you’re anything like me, you will eat cheesecake of any kind, in any form, at any time of the year. And with these no-bake parfaits, you don’t have to worry about your kitchen overheating. Grilled peaches and cheesecake? Yum.
Strawberry Mascarpone Sliders via Beyond Frosting
These sliders look so sweet and decadent. I love the idea of dipping them in chocolate for extra flavor and deliciousness – chocolate makes everything better.
Grilled Peach Cobbler via Cravings of a Lunatic
These little cobblers might not come with the grill marks I love so much, but they’re too cute to resist. Who wouldn’t want to eat something out of a tiny skillet? And imagine how good these would be with a dollop of vanilla bean ice cream.
Hi Alexa! Thank you so much for featuring us! We loooooove grilled fruit … it’s just so delicious! Mmmmm … can’t wait to try these other recipes! They ALL sound fabulous! 🙂
