Boston brown bread [baw-stuhn, bos-tuhn broun bred] noun

A steamed, non-yeast bread, often made in a cylindrical shape, containing both cornmeal, molasses, and wheat or rye flour. Boston brown bread recipes may also contain raisins. A can is sometimes used to shape the bread during cooking.
